Its amazing about what happens in a span of hours. After broadcasting my "new" blogsite to two friends, I receive feedback that they also have such sites through wordpress.com as well as some Twitter accounts. Add to that, they also referred other acquaintances of mine that have been blogging for the past months or so. As not to feel bad, I only came across blogsites that were started up this year. I haven't met anyone who's been blogging since the 1990's. Thankfully, I'm not that much left behind.
I never knew that wordpress was a blog community. With what the name suggests at first to my innocent eyes, it seems that its more of an extension of CNN, BBC, or any Press community where the latest news are shared. But I guess that that's what it basically is. Its where the latest news are shared. Only thing I misunderstood was that its not written by journalists, but by people who just want to say what's on their mind without the need of journalism rules. Journalists are probably the uppermost and most formal bloggers since their work is posted on the web, newspapers, and Time Magazine.
Mine is posted on blogspot! Yes! Its a step closer to The Economist.
Though I know that I'll never be the first to learn about new technology, I could be privileged to be one of the first in my circle of friends to actually test the service. I'm still busy looking for some blog applications that could extend mine to the mobile. Earlier, my friend recommended that I use Fritter. So that's on my list. Need I check out other software, or even invest in it, I just might. All for the Geek Prestige of being One of The First to Use
But going back to the world, not only of Web 2.0, but the whole wide world of technology, re-tests are appreciated as these help evolve our techno dreams and desires. Being the first has it perks. Finding bugs adds more perks. The time would come when I would shun and support Twitter and Fritter (though I'm not a fan of Twitter at first glance). One, I find it short. A hundred and forty characters is not enough for a first-time blogspot blogger. I'll probably be into it (Twitter) after a few blogs and I would need a shot of something new.
And two, I personally know two people using it. I'm jealous because my news of using Twitter would be no big deal. My time will come. (Hey, where's my BlackBerry Bold??? I need it for Show-And-Tell!)
May the Heavens of blogs open up to me and give me new things to play with, new applications to install, and new --many more-- things to do!
Kudos to the Next-Gen of blogging Journalists! The Economist, here we come!
